BAY OF FIRES SIGNATURE WALK

Explore the breathtaking coastline known as the Bay of Fires and stay in the award-winning Bay of Fires Lodge.

If squeaky white-sand beaches and wild coastline appeal to you, the Bay of Fires is a spectacular reason to lace up.  Your walk begins in the small township of Hadspen, where you can get to know your fellow walkers over dinner, spending the first night of your trip in the quaint surrounds of Red Feather Inn.

The next day we begin our journey to the Mt William National Park. Starting our walk at Boulder Point, we venture four hours to Forester Camp. Nestled into the dunes, there is no roughing it, take an ocean dip and return for pinots poured and your meal underway.

Day three is all about secluded coves, hearing tales of early inhabitants and making our way to the Bay of Fires Lodge.  This is home for the next two nights – where foot spas and library time come standard and signature experiences in the outdoor bath tempt. Day four, grab a kayak paddle and glide down the Ansons River or relax into a ‘lodge day.’

We take it easy on the final day, serving up a hearty brekkie followed by a one hour walk to our forest lunch location. It’s then onward to the walker base to celebrate our shared five days.

What our guests say

We experienced beaches, dunes, rocky areas, creeks, forests and more, all the while getting super interesting facts about the flora and fauna, history and even some amusing poetry. We walked through sunshine, rain and wind, but always with smiles on our faces, a sense of accomplishment and a good understanding of what to expect next. My friend and I joined 8 strangers but came away with 8 gorgeous new friends, and the whole group adored our clever, fun and energetic guides Katie and Ngaio. The food was also amazing and plentiful. I cannot recommend this company highly enough, the entire experience was immense and we'll be booking our next adventure with the TWC very soon.

For anyone thinking of participating in one of the walks, I can only say ‘Value yourself enough to participate, for the experience is worth it’.

My time on the Bay of Fires with our group and guides Zac and Charlie was incredible….

I found my first walk of this kind uplifting, enlightening, connected, warm, reflective, expansive, fun, joyful and nurturing. The guides and hosts made the experience complete with their care, knowledge and hospitality…Thank you ALL!

I will treasure my time with new friends and know it will always bring a smile to my face and a joyful lift to my heart.

Just wanted to leave a positive review for the Tasmanian Walking Company. It was an incredible experience and we had our guides to thank for that. Both Hippi and Alice were excellent! They were kind, patient and went above and beyond to help us and were very accommodating. Extra shout out to Hippi for all your fun energy and generosity, especially helping Mum throughout the walk. We will certainly be recommending this walk to others!

I loved every moment of the trek, from my morning yoga on the beach at sunrise to swimming in the sunset (in May:-). The scenery was amazing. Like a crescendo, the views along the way were increasingly beautiful. Our guides were super nice and professional and made a complex organization look straightforward. Our group had fun right from the start. Highly recommended!
