Plan your trip

Tasmania is an island 240 kilometres south of the Australian mainland. It is famous for its natural beauty. At 68,000 square kilometres Tasmania is less than one–third the area of Victoria and is comparable in size with the Republic of Ireland, West Virginia (USA) and Hokkaido (Japan).

The only ways to get to Tasmania is by aircraft or ferry.

Tasmania has a temperate climate with four distinct seasons. Typical summer temperatures are in the mid twenties during the day and mid teens at night – perfect for walking!

What our guests say

Fantastic trip that exceeded my expectations. First time on a guided trip. Stac and Laura were amazing guides so helpful and their passion and insights added so much value to the trip. Equipment supplied, food, allocated camp spots and itinerary planning meant we could totally relax and absorb our wilderness experience. Has now made it difficult to consider a multi-day hike in the future, without getting organised with the team from Tas Expo.

I recently went on the four day Walls of Jerusalem trek. The guides Jesse and Dan made the trip as easy as possible for us. They clearly explained what was happening each day, cooked delicious meals and were knowledgeable about the area and bushwalking in general. I couldn't recommend it enough, and I will be back!

Our Walls of Jerusalem experience was the highlight of our Tassie trip. The landscape was amazing and our guides Jessie and Dan were knowledgeable, helpful and very well organised. Was great to have their expertise plus not have to worry about organising all our own gear and meals. Would absolutely recommend!

Walls of Jerusalem with Tasmanian Expeditions was the most challenging, rewarding, beautiful, fun, exhausting, exhilarating walk I've ever done. Loved our guides. They really made it all of the listed verbs. And they were excellent cooks, botanists & knew the land. The knowledge they shared really made the trip. Ed & Ash you rock!!!xxx

Had an absolutely amazing experience on the Tassie South Coast Track with guides Bel and Jesse. Could not fault them for anything. This hike would be considered challenging by anyone’s standards but it didn’t feel like it at all with these two. Amazing support in every aspect from mental, physical, emotional - you name it. Top notch first aid skills and super chill under pressure - could not have been more happy with this incredible experience. The hike itself is just breathtaking and the experience added by guides and group only added to it. Thank you so much!!!!

This time the SCT ticked all the boxes, the weather, ground conditions, and been chest deep in water on day 8 crossing the Rivulet. Both Jesse and Oscar were totally professional, helpful and full of gear knowledge. And a bigger thanks to my fellow walkers who gave it 110% every day with whatever the weather or track throw at us and cracking the Iron Bounds in 9 hrs 40 mins without physically pushing ourselves. We cruised it for 'oldies"
